There are three national multiplexes in the UK. The first is operated by the BBC and its space is unavailable for commercial broadcasters. The BBC broadcast Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio 4, Radio 5 Live, 5Live Sports Extra, 6Music, BBC7, 1Xtra, BBC World Service and the BBC Asian Network.

The second is operated by Digital One (owned by Arqiva). The services currently broadcasting on Digital One are:

Absolute Radio, Capital DANCE, Capital UK, Capital XTRA, CapXTRA Reloaded, Classic FM, Gold UK, Heart Dance, Heart UK, Heart 70s, Heart 80s, Heart 90s, KISS, KISSTORY, LBC, LBC News, Magic, Radio X, Smooth Chill, Smooth UK, talkSPORT and UCB 1.

The third national commercial multiplex – Sounddigital – is managed by Arqiva and owned by Arqiva, Bauer and the Wireless Group. The services on the multiplex include:

Absolute 80s, Absolute 90s, BFBS UK, Boom Radio UK, Fun Kids UK, Jazz FM Stereo, Mellow Magic, Planet Rock, PremierChristian, Premier Praise, Scala Radio, Sunrise Radio UK, talkRADIO, talkSPORT 2, Times Radio, UCB 2, Union JACK, Union JACK Dance, Union JACK Rock, Virgin Anthems, Virgin Chilled and Virgin Radio.
